Laundry & easy care guide

LAUNDRY & EASY CARE GUIDE

Each Shyla Originals coat is 100% soft virgin wool, carefully made with passion, elegance and dedication in order for you to relish our designs day by day, every day. Every coat is a dry-cleaning item and thus, requires professional handling and cleaning. For proper storage, use hangers with wider contoured shoulders to support your coat without slips or strains. These are the highlights of your coat and need the most attention: Neck, shoulders, shoulder pads, buttons and eyelets. Read the instructions printed in the label and refer to the following section for additional information:

TIPS

  • Always read and follow the laundry & easy care instructions if included in your apparel label.
  • Coats often accumulate residue from other fabric such as sweaters. To remove dust and lint, specifically in darker models you may roll Scotch-tape (adhesive tape facing outwards) around your hand and gently take out the lint/pilling from your coat.

Fabric highlights:
Microfiber is a synthetic and very resistant material made of Polyester, similar to Nylon and Kevlar and even a combination of both. It is highly resistant and can be insulated for water-resistant clothing, however, specific care instructions are to be followed in order to maintain it's benefits for many, many years to come.

What if my trench-coat is stained?
Pre-treatment is a must when cleaning your trench-coat. Use a liquid stain remover that specifically treats color fabric. To avoid color fading, first try using the liquid remover in a hidden area of your trench-coat. If color doesn't fade, proceed to damp the affected area with cold water and apply the liquid stain remover, rub gently. Important: Allow the affected area of your trench coat to absorb the stain remover liquid for at least 30 minutes.

TIPS

  • Always read and follow the laundry & easy care instructions if included in your apparel label.
  • Your trench-coat is an outer garment and minimizes the need to be constantly washed as it is rarely in direct contact with your bare skin.
  • Store your trench-coat by hanging in a fresh area, avoid electric fan(s) from ventilating directly towards your garment. Fabric softeners can irreparably damage the fabric.

We usually make long-lasting uniforms, very easy to wash and dry since the fabric practically requires no ironing. Uniforms are machine-wash/ machine-dry only (even if the uniform looks better if promptly line-dried or folded). Machine-wash separately If the uniform is severely soiled or contains oil and/or chemical stains.

TIPS

  • Always read and follow the laundry & easy care instructions if included in your apparel label.
  • Do not bleach
  • Do not wring

  • Oil/ Food Grease: Cover the fresh spot with baby-powder or corn-starch, let the fabric absorb the corn-starch as much as possible and brush gently.
  • Pen Ink: Apply some alcohol on the affected area and proceed to wash.
